RICE ROTI

Happiness comes in rice form; a bowl of rice or rice roti

Yields68 Servings
 1 cup Water
 1 tsp Salt
 1 cup Rice Flour
 3 tsp Flour For Rolling

In a non-stick pot, bring to the boil water and salt.

Add flour and rapidly stir for 2 minutes.

Put the lid on, turn the flame on low and allow the dough to cook for 5 minutes.

Turn the flame off and allow the dough to rest for another 5 minutes.

Oil your hands and kneed th dough for a further 5 minutes until smooth and soft.

For the perfect rice roti, roll out six or 8 round thin rotis, With a rolling pin on a floured surface

Heat a tawa to medium hot, and cook on one side until it puffs up and is speckled brown on the underside. Turn it over and fry on the other side for a few minutes, until it too is puffed and speckled brown. Remove from the pan, allowing the roti to cool for a few seconds, and fold into half and wrap in a clean tea towel placed in a colander until ready to eat.

For extra soft rotis steam before serving best served with meat/beef curry.

One can travel all across the 7 seas and the entire globe finding new foods to eat but the truth remains, there’s no escaping rice! Hail rice ?? In grain form or even roti, rice is life. And here’s a very simple recipe using 3 ingredients: rice roti off course. And the best bit is that it’s gluten free my hungries!!

Roti, also known as chapati, is an unleavened bread, staple food prepared with whole wheat flour and water, eaten daily, by millions of south East Asians around the world.

rice roti is pretty much exactly the same thing, only that its made fom grounded rice flour, which is absolutely perfect for gluten free diets. So essentially this is the best alternative to bread and its super tasty, super quick and easy to prepare.

I am so proud I can make this whenever I like because rolling is really easy also. Have a go at this fresh take on a simple and authentic roti best served with meat or beef curry.
